The rule of thumb for therapeutics is about 10 years to market. Progenx switched to Ligand in 1989, so Ligand is on schedule for their first drug. However, I was not expecting 5 drugs in that time frame.

As far as 16 runs in a world series games, that's quite a bit. My daughter, Emily is competing with her 12 and under team (she's 11). The pitcher is 35 feet away, there's just a rubber and no mound, and the pitches come in at about 50 mph.

The Stealers played a Georgia team, and their pitchers were not that fast. At this level, slow pitchers can really get pounded. The base running has few restrictions, so a relatively inexperienced team can get very confused very quickly. The Stealers really had everything clicking yesterday and although there is a 10 run limit, they score 6 in the 7th (last) inning, to produce a 14 run win.

This morning they play the Manatee Strikers (from FL), who lost yesterday to the Texas Rebels 2-3 (its double elimination and the Stealers lost their first game 1-6 to the Kingston Dodgers from TN - we really played poorly).
