T.G.W., Just got through reading my mail and your response to my comments on selling short BBs. Your response was...

<It does not have to be marginable and does not necessarily need to be borrowed. Who told you that?
One can short both GLOW and TSIG>

* Since BBs are not marginable, they cannot be borrowed for ultimate
delivery on settlement date.

* BBs are "cash" transactions and by definition fully paid securities
in a cash account cannot be hypothecated.

* MMs in their market making role can 'short' a stock to accomodate
a customer purchase order.

* An individual cannot short a BB, only those OTC stocks approved for
margin purposes can be shorted as they can be hypothecated.
