Hello.

Microsoft's project Farenheit combines DirectModel and sgi's OpenGL optimizer to make a really nice 3D API. It will sit on top of OpenGL and should be ready in about a year.

3dfx only supports "MiniGL", a bare minimum subset of OpenGL functions that QuakeGL needs to run. Glide is most likely to disappear when developers realize how inferior it is to OpenGL and when Microsoft ditches D3D for Farenheit.

It is in 3dfx's best interest to support full native OpenGL.
