Did some analysis about the new account/repeat order figure, I found a disturbing trend: The percentage of existing customer (customer joined prior the beginning of the quarter) that placed orders in a giving quarter continue to slip.

09/30/97 66% 51%
12/31/97 84% 65%
03/31/98 75% 58%
06/30/98 66% 52%

The first colum represent the high end of estimate and the second column the low end.

To simplize the calculation, a couple of assumptions are made:

1. All new customers made a purchase during the quarter.
2. Approx. 5-10% of all (new and existing) customers made 2 orders during any given quarter and no customers made more than 2 orders.
