The ONLY source for the reporting of institutional holdings is from the filings of 13F reports with the SEC. These reports are filed within 45 days of the end of the calendar quarter and are required of all institutions with investment assets over $100 million. Unless someone reporting these numbers has special knowledge of institutional holdings by companies with smaller portfolios the reported numbers should be the same. Both definitions you quote are the same (I know you don't believe that but they are). The difference is that Marketguide is recognized as doing an excellent job of reporting financial data and it is clear that the site you reference isn't. I'd suggest that you use MarketGuide as a source rather than trying to justify grossly inaccurate data as being real.
