In 7/6/98 issue of Design News a small statement of a reformerless PEM fuel cell that use methanol which actually produces more electricity from a mixture of 97% water and 3% methanol than from methanol or hydrogen alone. They use a 50% catalyst of ruthenium at the anode. Work being done by NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab and Univ of Southern California. I've requested additional information which I will post when it becomes available.
