I wonder...
There has been a few posts to the effect that the cost of putting the meters on board would be in the order of about $5 to the motherboard or I/O chipset manufacturer.

The question is really if some of that cost is related to licensing the meter i.e $1/meter to Wave for instance. In that case, income to Wave for getting the meter on board for security purposes may for argument sake amount to $5-10 million in 1999 and $100 million in the next 3-5 years. Enough to keep the lights working and toilets flushing , one might think.

Any thoughts?
