Mike- I can name two that are VUI and offer everything but media content on their services, Wildfire and Webley. These companies may not have the most sophisticated VUI on the market, granted, but they are good services that will get market share just by targeting different reseller channels. Webley in fact is cheaper than Portico, and has been in the market with their product longer, and has had longer to set up beta-testing relationships than Portico has. While I think that Portico is a great product, I am not sure that all the services it offers (such as the web content) are as necessary to a customer, whether they be a corporate consulting firm or a small sales business. Also there are FIVE other companies that offer unified messaging through 1-800 one numbers and a touch-tone interface that will get your email, read it to you, forward it to a contact, fax on demand, store/forward faxes, and find/follow you. Only four of the services (Call Sciences, Webley, Startouch ESA, and Premtek's Orchestrate) have web-interfaces, but these interfaces are just fine, and at the same price or lower than Portico's. This is a young market, all of these companies (of which only PTEK and GMGC are public) will have growth periods, and will ahve time to develop market share and premium services: VUI's or better VUI's, Import facilities from PIM's and Outlook, Speec to Text, etc. These companies ALREADY have a customer base and can expand from it. I think that GMGC has great prospects, particularly if they succeed in an Intel-Like BRANDING campaign that makes them totally unique and publicly known and trusted. But, as with the recent experiences with Intel, Price may become a paramount concern for the target market as it has in PC's. Only time will tell. Don't walk around with the blinders on like they do on the YHOO thread. There are competitors for this product. They are viable. They have parity in technology and resources and perhaps an advantage in experince. Well.. that's my two cents for the morning.. JC
