Alabama Goes On the Record With Pay Per View Special; TBA
Entertainment Subsidiary, Avalon Entertainment Group, to Produce Oct.
10 Show

Business Wire - July 23, 1998 09:15

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--July 23, 1998--Country supergroup Alabama will perform all 41 of
their number one hits in an unprecedented, live Pay Per View television special scheduled to air live October 10 at 8 p.m. EST
from the Las Vegas Hilton. Avalon Entertainment Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TBA Entertainment Corporation, will
produce the three hour and 50 minute special to be called "Alabama: For the Record." The show will chronicle the group's
legendary career, which includes more solo No. 1 records on the Billboard and Radio & Records charts combined than any
artist in the history of recorded music.

"This is a totally unique concept -- a first ever "docu-concert" -- where we will integrate the concert performance with a myriad
of multi-media special effects and set changes to tell the incredible story of Alabama's record-breaking history of making No. 1
hits," said Marc Oswald, chief executive officer of Avalon Entertainment Group and creator/producer of the "Alabama For the
Record" television event.

In addition to creative production challenges, the show will also pose significant physical challenges, particularly for Alabama. In
comparison to a typical two-hour concert featuring 18-20 songs, "Alabama For the Record" will require the group to perform
non-stop for almost four hours.

"This is truly a marathon concert," commented Randy Owen of Alabama, "and on behalf of the entire group, we are excited and
honored to have the opportunity to share these favorites with the fans who made them number one."

"Even after 20 years with Alabama, I continue to be amazed at the depth of their work and the energy they continue to commit
to their music," added Dale Morris, manager of Alabama.

The special will be broadcast from The Showroom at the Las Vegas Hilton. Limited tickets will go on sale August 29 and will
be available by calling 800-222-5361

In conjunction with this project RCA Label Group will release a two-CD set also entitled "Alabama For the Record" scheduled
to hit stores August 25.

"When you see the list of No. 1 hits Alabama has earned, you understand that's why they are one of the most popular bands in
the history of music," commented Joe Galante, RCA Label Group RLG/Nashville chairman.

The "Alabama For the Record" Pay Per View special will be distributed by Spring Communications. Virtually all cable and
satellite Pay Per View services have agreed to carry the event. Executive producers for the show include Joe Galante, Dale
Morris and Marc Oswald.
