Rene, all I can tell you is that you might want to try market orders if the stock is not moving too fast, and you are going to offer above the ask anyway.

I'm pretty sure on a market order, Datek's order routing first checks ISLD for a match at the current ask. If not there, then the offer is SNET'ed out to the world (probably SNET broadcast, but maybe pref'ed, who knows).

On a limit above the ASK, Datek should do the same thing as above, but who knows. I've given up trying to figure out their order routing system.

I was told on the phone that improvements in the order routing for market orders are on the way. There really is no excuse for 3-10 minute fills of market orders. They have always compensated me fairly on slow market fills.
