Agreed

Y2K is certainly a serious problem which demands serious attention, but it looks like it is getting it. See, for example, fpl.com which shows how one major electric utility (FPL) is on-track to ensure a smooth transition to the new millenium. By the time January 1, 2000 actually rolls around, I think we'll find that aside from a few annoyances we'll still be here. Never underestimate human ingenuity and resolve.

If you want to be absolutely safe, wait until March 1, 2000 before sounding the "all clear" since 2000 is a leap year and there will undoubtedly be glitches surfacing on February 29 as well.
