I think that CUBE would have to pay market salary plus stock in order to attract good people, because its stock has gone nowhere. On the other hand, MSFT pays notoriously low salaries (approximately 70-80% of market) plus stock to attract very good people. Because of the MSFT stock appreciation, no one complains about the salary.

Matsushita Firms Develop System Chip For DVD Players
TOKYO (Nikkei)-Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. (6752) and Matsushita Electronics Corp. have developed a highly integrated semiconductor for DVD players.

The system-on-a-chip, used to decompress visual data stored on DVD media, can incorporate memory capacity of 4 megabits or more.

The companies plan to begin volume production in September; DVD players using the chip are expected to hit the market the same month.

Matsushita Electronics also intends to sell the chip to other companies.
