> ASND apparently is off the "possible takeover list".

which could mean that the deal will be announced shortly...

Remember how Nortel down-played the idea of a big acq? They stated they had a 'string of pearls' approach to acquisitions. Sound familiar? The NT speculation was holding up the price of BAY. Nortel announced that they'd be making a big announcement during Supercomm (i think it was Supercomm). A lot of people figured it would be the BAY deal, but it turned out to be some joint dev. with MSFT. BAY promptly dropped that Friday b/c people thought NT+BAY wasn't happening. NT+BAY announced the following Monday before the bell.

Gary, I would think that ASND is off the list until October. The companies on this list are much smaller than ASND and LU might be able to do a cash transaction.

You can't believe a word these guys say. The Lehman brothers had an interview with NT about 2 weeks before they bought Bay. They told the Lehman firm that they were not interested in Bay.

I have been wanting to pick up some AFCI. Especially, under 22. That stock could move to 30 if they are able to get any business from the baby bells. Unfortunately, my latest investments aren't doing so hot this week and I am a little gun shy. <g>

Gary - I've read the article and it did mentioned ASND as a potential takeover. Moreover, it said ASND is more likely than FORE.
