Observations:

I have seen predictions of impending doom on Iridium sats from those who observe their every move, looking for the flashes etc. that can be seen with telescopes or high power binoculars. These guys note a change in orbit, tumbling, etc. and you usually know about a failed sat before it's announced. I have not kept up with the observations lately. Note that these are new Iridium failures, not complete failures of the previous "suspect" sats. Also note #71 was dead--this would have launched quite recently, and #44 is not very old as well. I think the others were in the 11, 18, a few in the 20's, and 46 if memory serves me correctly. These failures coupled with a slide in date of service all are beating up Iridium. I will find out what was said at yesterday's conference call--obviously nothing good!
