... apparently very questionable and naive decision

A lot of decisions coming out of the Rabins lately have seemed this way to me. Maybe that is why the Investment Reporter rates SWEBF as SELL.

>>Taurus Capital Markets...why not Hudson Venture Partners, NY?

"...Blue Lobster Software, a leading provider of legacy to Web connectivity technology, announced today an addition to its Board of Directors, industry leader Jay N. Goldberg from the New York-based firm, Hudson Venture Partners, LLP.

Hudson Venture Partners participated in the first round of funding and has agreed to be the lead investor for the second round.

Goldberg brings more than 30 years acumen in the computer software industry with substantial expertise in creating, financing, growing and implementing I.P.O. launches for new companies. He currently serves on the Board of numerous enterprises including: Cellular Technical Services Corporation; Global Payment Technologies, Inc.; Lexstra International, and OPCENTER, LLC; (the last two he founded).

In the past, Goldberg has served as Chief Executive Officer of Image Business Systems Corporation; Software Design Associates and Zeitech, Inc. (also founded by Goldberg). His substantial knowledge of the market provides Blue Lobster Software with a discerning vision for recognizing future opportunities...In addition they have formed significant long-term strategic partnerships with Sun Microsystems, Net Dynamics, UniKix, and Netscape*
. With the completion of equity financing, and on going development of new products, Blue Lobster will most certainly continue to be a leader in this market."

*note Goldberg/Hudson has already engineered strategic alliances with the very firms whom recently completed two Application Server acquisitions (Sun/Net Dynamics, Netscape[Kiva]) for > $150 million each since 12/97 [as previously cited on this thread]...been there done that...

...NY is a stone's throw from Toronto and these guys actually have done exactly what SoftQuad, Inc. requires...Hudson Bay should syndicate/co-lead broker the [SoftQuad, Inc] sale with a west coast/Silicon Valley firm e.g. Kleiner Perkins [early pre-IPO Netscape investor], Robertson Stephens...???!!!
