If I'm a Vegas bookie, AOL is the odds-on favorite, due to the following items which point to a major deal with AOL:

- Last weeks announcement about 10K units sold to an "unnamed" buyer,
which I have heard was AOL.

- In the NEXT SENTENCE afterwards, an "unnamed" major internet provider deal.

- Minor deals with Programmers Paradise, and Australian deals not shrouded in "unnamed" secrecy. This also fits the "major deal" AOL scenario.

- For most major deals, the major listed company must run the
news through a series of legal and PR people before release-
this also fits the "major deal" AOL scenario.

- Three 100000 buys last Monday, the day before the scheduled news
release, indicating "major deal" frontrunning.

I hope PINC will wait until Monday to release the blockbuster news
for maximum effect!

Sent an EM to Greg Kraft asking some questions that had come up on the thread. Below is the information he EMed to me.

Will verify the information regarding the 230 of 250M non-compliant computers. Greg is working on the question of the corruption of information.

The comapany has been extremely busy ramping up their products (they will soon publish information about products other than Y2K), and the FAQ section of the website should be up and running late next week.

Dr. John Kendall recently retired as Dean of Science at U. of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Former director of LSI Logic (Canada).

Here is information regarding the number of PCs made in 1997 that may not be compliant:

Half of all new PCs fail 2000 Bios test
By Julia Vowler

"Users still have only a 50:50 chance of buying a PC that will work without interruption in the next century, according to research
published by year 2000 PC specialist Greenwich Mean Time. In a test of 500 PCs containing Bios chips with a 1997 manufacture date, the company found that 235 (47%) were not year 2000 compliant. A separate test found that a massive 93% of pre-1997 Bios chips did not comply.

See 2k-times.com for the full article. Scroll about 2/3 down the page.

Once again, the company would like to caution investors to disregard hype and call Greg directly with questions.
