As AMD is finding out, you can't sell promises - although they keep trying.

AMD is trying to get recognized for what they are not - a technology leader. Moreover, they are forced to burn cash to keep their operations going - and they keep having to borrow money to get that cash.

Thus, they need to "float" a few promises to keep the investor community - and CREDITORS - from deserting them.
