Rob,

Your comparison between AMZN and NSCP is very convincing. Indeed, if it is easy for people to switch browsers, it is even easier for people to switch a book seller.

NSCP got into the sorry situation while still commanding nearly 1/2 of browser market, (only they have to give it away). In fact, Switching a browser is not very easy for many. I for one, still use Navigator although it crashes frequently. To switch from Navigator to IE, one will not to export hundreds of bookmarks and has to adapt to the new interface, especially the different way the screen shifts.

The barrier for switching vendor is almost nonexist. In fact, most people will go to different site to make price comparison before buying. Isn't that what the Internet is for?
