Given the way the market has been punishing companies, such as CA, for "minor" announcements in comparison to the semi eq companies, it is indeed amazing that the SOX does not drop a ton. Well, ASMLF was hit pretty hard today. On the other hand, when the companies no longer respond to negative news that's a good indication of a bottom. The possibility that we will see some major shifts of money from some of the inflated sectors such as Internet stocks into depressed sectors such as chips and semi equip stocks may be providing some floor and perhaps will provide some lift even while things look pretty dismal.
