Actually if the Kyl proposal somehow manages to pass the HR and on to the president for signature it's likely to have minimal, if any effect on internet-based sportsbooks and casinos targeting United States customers such as those operating in Australia. The only *bad" news in reality is increased censure of the internet and violation of individual civil rights perhaps. Another troubling aspect of this prohibition should it pass is that it could indeed affect Starnet's ability to license S&C's to operators abroad who intend to do business here or wherever else internet gambling is illegal. So this is really not "bad news for others" because I doubt there are any US based internet casinos operating anyway that would not already be affected by the Interstate Wire Act or applicable state laws.
