FTR, For the Record.

>>>, are you expecting a bear market to set in? If so, what fundamental change in the economy might presage such an event? Maybe poor earnings? Furthermore, if the supply of stock is decreasing via buybacks, mergers, etc., and more and more people are investing, how will this supply/demand situation result in lower prices overall?<<<

This could be the start of a bear market, at least a short one. Earnings or rather lack there of, may be the culpret.
As for the supply of stock decreasing via buy backs,
All that type of stuff is good and well, it might even help you sleep better at night. But if selling sets in, None of that will out weigh the supply of stock from people weh just don't want them anymore.
