The Internet: DCLK.. Advertising will be the biggest thing on the internet. The best play is DCLK. The firm has created a network of 70 Web sites - including U.S. News & World Report, AltaVista, and dilbert. Companies pay Double Click a fee to place their ads on all those sites; DoubleClick keeps 30-50 percent of the money and passes the rest along to the network members. DCLK is responsible for sending some 60 million ad impressions per day to more than 30 million Internet users each month and has become the leading advertising network on the Internet. It offers small and medium-sized sites an easier way to sell advertising space. BT Alex. Brown's Shaun Andrikopoulos figures DoubleClick sales will increase to $92 million in 1999 (from $59 million this yar), when he thinks the company with break even. He predicts annual earnings growth will reach 75 to 100 percent by 2002. In 1992-94, when I started sell off and transferring my portfolio to CSCO, INTC, HWP, CDG, WDC etc. everyone was telling me to keep the safe 'utilities' and plays such as Brunswick, Consolidated Edison, Bethlehem Steel.. I was starting my home-based graphics art business and was very impressed by the computer hardware offered by these companies. Get real! CSCO and CDG were up 400% while the others were pretty dismal. Now I'm accumulating some of the internets for the year 2,000. The internets have already taken care of my son's 4 year prep school (since January 1998) and I expect it will get him into an Ivy league college should the trend continue. This is not a fad, but will continue. OF course there will be corrections here and there but the strength today in WCOM, MSPG, CNET is not a fluke but the shape of things to come. I will be using weakness in the sector to get into some plays
