Genesys vs Geotel and other key issues...

This thread has been dead for some time. I am interested in getting some open discussion from some industry or investment folks that look at this thread but do not participate. I am long but frankly a bit frustrated with the price action of the stock. Yes, it is expensive but Genesys has a big opportunity and has beaten expectations by a penny or two every quarter and maintained a healthy pipeline. At 7 times annualized quarterly sales, it trades at half of Geotel's valuation and (although I have not checked) much less than that of Siebel, Itwo, Broadvision and a host of other enterprise software companies.

- I get a few mixed signals regarding Genesys products and quality. The few large customers I have talked to are quite satisfied with the products but Genesys had a early reputation of poor quality and still get knocked around by some analysts (Dataquest specifically). Has anyone worked with their stuff and can relate some opinions.

- How much pressure will Genesys get competitively from Geotel's and Aspect's premise products, specifically Site ICR (from Geotel)? Does Geotel have a significant advantage in the simplicity of implementation. Genesys has a sales force that is over twice that of Geotel but Geotel seems to have very good momentum right now (at least stock wise).

- To you investment folks, what is the street skinny on Genesys. There is obviously some frustration with the stock now but what are sell side analysts REALLY saying about the company.

- Genesys clearly has great technology but is their marketing engine up to snuff. I sometimes get the sense that perhaps they are doing really cool stuff but are a bit out of focus from what the market needs.

- What is most puzzling is how low Genesys' "booth buzz/stock valuation" ration is. Typically when a vendor gets the amount of buzz in their booth that Genesys does at industry trade shows, the stock valuation is not high but outrageous. Genesys does not conform to this measurement. Any thoughts to breaking this very established ratio?

Any other thoughts or discussion points would be appreciated.
