Oh I'm sure you are right - I was just being sarcastic about accounting gimmicks these days.

In the spirit of today's accounting standards, they'd probably just write such a thing off as a 'one time' charge.

Most of their employees answer phones and pack boxes. There is no need for Amazon to offer stock options to attract employees. AMZN is bearly an 'internet' company. It certainly isn't a tech company.
