i just wanted to put some cash to work.

i m making up some rules for me as i go.

I buy
leaps for intermidiate trade (3wks -3 months).
$ amount in leaps should be between 4-10% of the portfolio not more.
this last run i had wcom, msft, pfe and wla leaps some HD leaps.

stocks/options for a quick trade.

options when i m scared of a stock and i m fully prepare to loose all the premium as i probably will w. my dell options.

some leaps i expect to exercise then i buy deep in the mony.
some are just for pure profits i buy at the mony or out of the mony.

lastly, i usually forget my rules and do what i want to do.

spy

yes. this year i bot 93-94 and then again at 108. just look at the chart. what a drop! i should put some mony in to spy soon but i won't.

I want to some how sell high and move mony to spy. i can't seem to sell dell even my recent buys. i hope i m not attached to it.

spy are not for trading are a long term hold. very long (90 years)? or maybe my kids will sell when they get them.

stocks allow me to do stop loss so i can go u know where.
i only trade less then 10% of my portfolio. mostly all long term stuff.
