Air...There was nothing new in this cc then in the previous. Reading between the lines is easy except the stock price keeps going down.

If BA and BT and BC are going sooooo well, where are the profits from these deployments. Still showing scheduled losses and still on target to lose $ through 1999.

Read between the lines...OK...
BC is going to maybe stay with WSTL.
BA going soooo well there should be no problem for DMT.
Still in touch with GTE ILEC, maybe win back.
US WEST maybe coming back to WSTL.
SBC/LU could result in WSTL RE.

shall I go on.

We know/knew all of this and more from Dr. Tech, but the CC provieded nothing new and no excitment (IMHO).

Street is treating BA deployment as a trial until WSTL wins DMT contract.

If WSTL doesn't expect earnings to go + any sooner, then how much confidence can they have in WSTL' s deployment? Then we have to actually wait for earnings to go + which you and I know will be sooner than expected and that won't be until mid 99 which means the stock sits until then.

IMHO...CC provided the same dull info...SUCKED!

Stock will probably continue downward!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Conf Call

I thought the call went well. Absolutely no hype, unlike past calls with Seamens. They did not say anything that could get them in trouble later. Of course that's the stuff we probably wanted to hear.

I think they summed it up pretty well regarding ADSL and Westell.
The market is not recognizing Westell because it is not recognizing
ADSL. It was suppose to happen awhile ago and did not. Therefore
everyone discounts it as NOT going to happen. Cable is being talked
about everywhere and has the attention of the street. Westell believes that this will change going into the fall and the rest of the year. They expect a momentum shift towards ADSL as BEL roles out deployment. MZ sounded very confident of this.

The way I take it is, the street still doesn't believe that ADSL will ever happen while Westell knows it is going to happen this fall.

Ziont's believes the JPC will need additional vendors and also believes that WSTL and DSC have a good shot at the BEL DMT contract since they are the incumbents. He also stated that BEL has a plan to double the 1999 deployment numbers to 10 million.

So, they are in a pretty good position, all we need is the rollout
we've been waiting forever for. Looks like it's this Fall.

Regards,

Dave

Only DSL revenue will make WSTL move higher
unfortunately DSL revenues are no where to be
seen:

Dec 97: 3.9M
March 98: 3.0M
June 98: 3.3M

If Sept 98 DSL revenue are not above 6M then GET OUT
OF THIS STOCK.

I am long but starting to be nervous because with all the
good news the company is feeding us (i.e all the contract
where they are shipping BC, BA and BT) revenues are not there...

Good luck to all...
