Andrew - Question:

When companies, say Intel, talk of being at 0.25u production, I presume that is a reference to only a few of the layers. The other layers are still at 0.35u or 0.5u?. Thus, only 25%(?) of the layers require DUV. But as they move to 0.18u, I presume the number of layers that will need to be DUV will move up (60% ?). Do you happen to know some concrete data on this subject, or know where I could find such data?

TIA

Clark

PS I realize it is different for every kind of chip, with MP's and DRAM's being the opposite ends of the spectrum, but I'm looking for a general rule or at least an understanding of the differences. Again, TIA.
