Re: Elevators. Today I spoke with a supervisor at a fairly large elevator company in NY. I asked if he was aware of the Y2K problem and he laughed and said that if it doesn't get fixed you wouldn't want to be in an elevator at New Years. I then asked what they had done about it and he said "Nothing". It seems that they are confident that someone will come up with a magic bullet that will solve this problem and they are waiting to see what happens. I explained that testing to see if the magic bullet was really magic could be quite time consuming and perhaps that he should look into the problem sooner. I also mentioned TAVA to him. There are probably thousands of other companies like this one that are going to wake up late to the fact that there is no easy solution. They will be caught with their pants down and hopefully TAVA will be able to name their price to help get the work done.
