CC Impressions. The most important comment I heard was that the FCC is "lining up for DSL deployment". Their (FCC) "posture is direct and positive". I also noted:

1. A teleconferencing product contract is signed with a Fortune 500 company who will be doing their own publicity so elaboration now is not possible. Anyone care to guess who.

2. BA-"As scheduled". "Around September" "Got orders & readying for shipping". "ISDN Swap" to be promoted.

3. BT-"As scheduled". "Early 99 in London"

4. BellCanada-Shipping CAP now. At some point BC will switch to DMT Alcatel. They might help ALA.

5. Lucent-1st solutions in late 98 for its "installed base".

6. GTE-CLEC & "other organizations"

7. Westells "long term" chip bet is on Texas I. Short-term--whatever flys.

8. I see there were some big names in the audience. Raymond James, Robertson-Stevens, Paine Webber, and others.

9. A paraphrase: "There's bigger competition out there than ALA. So, working with ALA is not out of the question." I took this to mean that Lucent might eat everybodys lunch.

10. My two cents: If everything on Westelll's "wish list" materializes they'll be rich. But at this stage nothing is concrete.
