Wenderson,

The fundamentals are irrelevant in the current situation when it comes to the price of the stock. Sentiment is key. However, they are crucial when it comes to the viability of the company going forward. The fundamentals are excellent and the best we could have expected to happen in 1998 is the advancement by DeBeers of the project to the next stage-major bulk. WE WILL GET THAT WITHIN 60 DAYS OR LESS, IN MY OPINION. The only other fundamental we could get are more pipes. We may get that yet, as the drilling season is just beginning. But, that is just delicious gravy on an otherwise succulent meal. And it will come. We just dont know exactly when. Those mineral trains are not optical illusions. Stock price performance and company fundamentals many many times will diverge from each other for myriad reasons. The reasons could be many such as technical, margin related selling or fund redemptions forcing the sale of any liquid stock just to gain access to cash. I am not in any way suggesting that this is what is happening with MPV. I do not believe that the US funds are selling any stock. On the contrary. They are not stupid enough to sell here. Or, put another way, they would feel like fools to sell into this downdraft. The list of reasons why sellers sell is too long to articulate and not worth the paper its written on. Because, the bottom line is WHO CARES? The stock is cheap but many investors in this market environment just dont care. That will change, and I think it will change soon. This is an issue of sentiment and psychology. Many choose to look at this situation as a glass half full. In other words, they harp on the risks and the weak points in the story. That is very typical at market bottoms. But, if you can see through the smokey haze of burning bullshit, you will be a big time winner. With the level of undervaluation which now exists in the diamond sector in general and this play in particular, to not take advantage of these prices is to have absolutely no confidence in your convictions. Or, to be just so stunned as to not be able to make rational decisions. It is like that at the tail ends of viscious bear markets. It will have you believing that your head is detached from your body. THAT IS THE TIME TO BUY. The trend followers are going to get body slammed in short order, and it will hurt.
