oexwa, I looked at that again a bit and it looks like you can sign up for 24 month, 36 or 48 month plans. But the 2 year trade-in point (and your old box is valued at wholesale) seems the same in all.

So I guess figuring out what exactly is going on with ASP's given Ted's comments is going to take a little more work. But it appears they are just offering a preferred shot at outside 14.9% plus financing, and the chance to get mad at GTW when the 2 year trade in option arrives - no? Imagine you select the 4 year finance option and find out what the thing is worth at the end of 2 years and you still have two years left on payments. Usually lenders don't like this underwater situation to develop so we can make a few observations here.

Well an awful lot of people are stupid and this has a great chance to come to a bad end - and GTW may have just set up a potential landmine they will step on in two years. Even the stupid folks will figure out what happened. At least the old used car dealers could shutter the place and go across town and start up again under a new name. Maybe that is what GTW has in mind -- pump and dump?
