The problem Ken, is not the PC but the pipe. You can get DIRECPC for any PC, it's just that it costs a couple hundred a month for round the clock access, and from what I read, rarely gives you anywhere near the 400k access. With today's modem technology, you aren't going to do any better downloading video on the 300mhz machine I posted vs a 400mhz machine. When cable and xDSL are widely available we can revisit the issue, but by then I suspect the very same Presario for 900 bucks will include the 10mbs ethernet port as the high end models do, and will also include a significantly faster processor. The only thing I have heard of down the road that requires at least a 350mhz processor and the 100mhz bus is Microsoft's 'Chrome', and by the time that is released, I suspect one will be able to buy one of those for not much more than 1k.... Moot point for Dell anyway, as they are not in this market segment.

Best regards,
John

Now - if you want to watch movies on your PC, that requires DVD, now available on the higher end machines, but why not simply buy a cheap TV/VCR combo... <ggg>
