Matt,

I was speaking about the often quoted "new era" (sustained expansion in corporate earnings and the stock market), not GDP. But, I agree, a stock market boom (bubble) doesn't necessarily mean that GDP is booming. You missed the cynicism in my remarks. In the future, I'll make sure and put a little <g> after them for clarification.

My main point was about GTW. If they can't hit expectations in what some say are the best of times, what will happen if things get worse ?
