Hey, at least Zap has positive earnings unlike most of the top internet portal stocks out there such as Yahoo, Excite, and InfoSeek. Granted Zap may not be in their league right now, but in a few months watch out. With its good positive earnings and low P/E of 22.4, Zap is still, IMHO, very undervalued at this point. My target price is $40 within 3 months.

Good luck to all,
tfk

It will not take long to figure out they are cooking the books.

<<<In NYTH012, Zapata Corp. Second Quarter Earnings to Exceed Street
Expectations, we are informed by a representative for the company that the headline should read "Zapata Corp. Fiscal Third Quarter Earnings to Exceed Street Expectations" rather than "Zapata Corp. Second Quarter Earnings to Exceed Street Expectations." >>>

Give us a break Ken. These corrections happen all the time. I am beginning to think that you've shorted it and now are scrambling to convince yourself in any way possible that it was a good move.

They apparently are not cooking the books, believe it or not! At least a few analysts that have been watching Zapata have concluded that the quarterly profits are for real (whether they'll prove to be recurring or not is another question, though) and that the company does seem to have the potential to pull off its game plan. I wish I'd saved the info, but I go through so much of that stuff daily I just make notes on the guts & trash the rest.
