Ken, You are correct. To my knowledge both the DJX and SPX are European Style. But my question to you is, why would you want to exercise these LEAPS? I would want to trade them, the market will likely not really take a hit until next year as the Y2k gets closer. By then, those LEAPS will be much more liquid, especially if the indexes are extremely volatile, which I think they will be. My strategy is to buy the LEAPs on the Put side, and trade them as a pure option play sometime in late 1999 when my guess is that they'd be in the money. Then cash out and take the profits and start buying into the sell-off. later, geoff
