Dave Werklund, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian
Crude Separators Inc. (CCS), is pleased to announce the
appointment of Murray Montgomery, C.A. to the position of Vice
President Finance and Chief Financial Officer effective August 4,
1998. Mr. Montgomery will assume management responsibility for
overseeing the Company's financial operation and will play a
key role in the strategic planning process.

Mr. Montgomery joins CCS with many years of oilfield experience,
most recently at Brinkerhoff Drilling Ltd. where he was the Chief
Financial Officer, responsible for the entire financial
operations of the company. Prior to Brinkerhoff, Mr. Montgomery
was the Chief Financial Officer at Brelco Drilling Ltd. His
experience brings a proven track record of professional financial
management to CCS. Mr. Montgomery is also a Past Director of the
Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC) and
Past President of the Petroleum Accountants Society of Canada
(PASC).

Mr. Montgomery is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of
Commerce Degree, Major in Accounting, from the University of
Calgary.

CCS is a publicly traded (TSE-CCR), dynamic Calgary-based company
committed to "Safely Providing Environmentally Responsible
Solutions" to its customers. In operation since 1984, CCS has
grown to 13 oilfield waste processing, custom treating, and
disposal facilities throughout Western Canada. CCS also operates
20 service rigs under the name of Concord Well Servicing.
