What refreshing post. Now, for the brass ring:

1) Does Bear have a "Strong Buy" rating? (get my drift?)
2) Does anyone think they'll deliver an ST EPS upgrade if we do better than the street thinks?

"The company's successful launch of the Gigabit Ethernet
backbone switches (now approx. 5% of revenues) has positioned the
company well in the high-speed LAN backbone environment."

Greg,

Great information. I took this as the most significant part of future revenues since it is probably (along with WDM) the ramping high margin part of the business.

Has anyone seen figures for total GE ports shipped per manufacturer and also who else is focusing on GE in the LAN for backbone switching?

George D.

Greg:

Thanks for the BEST update; it made my evening. Particularly liked
***With its long-distance Gigabit speed capabilities, WDM
technology, in addition to WAN access and routing software from
Xyplex, MRV, in our view, has a potential to sell into the
emerging carriers (CLEC, national ISP) market should the company establish the necessary channels through either partnerships or acquisitions.

And I would add European ISPs and the European equivalency to CLECs as Europe continues deregulation.
