Anyone notice how quiet these threads get when there is a liquidity drain going on in the market? It is especially noticeable on the "hyped stock" threads. Perhaps Lachesis could do a time series study relating the two for us. Could have interesting implications in all seriousness.

"I was under the impression that some stocks (CKFR for example) are favorites among daytraders."

Yes, there are some stocks that daytraders seem to follow. But they fall in and out of favor. Of course there are people who make a living trading one or two names. Perhaps I never hear from them because they really don't need to trade information. Perhaps what you need to look for is average volume traded vs the available float. YHOO and AMZN both have tight floats, but can trade up to many times the float in a day. I know those are daytrader favorites, and have been for some time. But at some point they will probably be left behind. IOMG was a daytrader favorite for a long time, but has passed from that status long ago. As I said, I trade news and event driven stocks, so the names I trade are constantly changing. CFON has been an ATM machine for me this year. It fills all three roles, as I have a long term core short position, initiate position trades and also daytrade it. But it is only a good daytrading stock perhaps 2 or 3 days of the month.
