Maybe I should not have singled out LD companies but its inevitable.

<I do not believe it is 5 years out technologicaly.>

I don't have the url & I looked for hours last night, but the cable network we are referring to needs a lot of work. Two years of major upgrades in T most recent purchase w/ considerable $ & thats just a start. Its true that T will be able to feed video this way but all the RBOC's have to do is add more fiber to a system thats already there in many places. My point is that fiber vs copper is moot. Fiber blows copper away as far as througput is concerned but that system in not even close to being in place or fine tuned in any way. The RBOC's are to blame for this mess along w/ the FFC & LD co,'s & I don't have the answers but all the legal work here is killing productivity which is the basis for the economic upturn this county has enjoyed for the last 7 years.

<These companies I presume by having the interest in ATT stock will cooperate with ATT in whatever telephone-cable offering it will come up with.>

No doubt about it & in time will be able to offer voice but Im of the opinion that is going to be a bit longer for what the RBOC's already have. RE: voice & data transfer. After months of considerable reading I just don't see cable & phone service being one in the same. I don't think we will see one line to the home in the near future. If the cable co runs fiber then so will the phone company as in many cases the fiber has been installed for years & if not its being layed/strung now, just not put into the neighborhood.

Please forgive the rambling as all this debating something that should have been done buy people we pay should have been done years ago. Wstl managment has a good point tech works & Bells won't deploy........

Have a good one all, I know Im going to.
