You've been busy on the TBR thread!!!

Alstom (ALS) was formerly known as GEC-Alsthom, a 50/50 joint venture between ALA and GEC of Great Britain. The company recently went public, because ALA wants to concentrate on the telco business. I think that ALA still owns about 25% of ALS.

I wouldn't be to surprised to see ALA spin of the rest of ALS in the
next couple of years. I also wouldn't be surprised to see ALA make another large North American acquisition. It's a good long term investment.
