Re: given the news affecting HWP, CA, GTW etc. IBM has to be in the same boat.

Not necessary. IBM has a bigger share of revenue and profit coming from software and service divisions. If you look at todays market, those provide service and software are doing much better than those produce things.

Ramsey and Katherine,>Now the AUP is finally tumbling and fast. I saw an IBM Aptiva 266 ad for $999 including a 15" monitor and a Lexmark printer. How many of us really need a MMXXX444 super dooper machine?<

I agree with you, now. However, I understand that the new electronic games and HDTV with the flat screen and other future electronics will require more power. IMO, it all depends on what electronics and uses are coming down the pipe, increased computer server requirements and band width on the internet, etc. If there are going to be additional requirements in the immediate future then won't there be required upramp time required for the semiconductors, semi-equip. manufactures. The question is, how much power and upramp time will be required?

All input is requested to give us non-engineer types the ability to make sound investment decisions.

Thanks.
