Question about block buys, actually two.

Today, someone dumped 400,000 shares of KEA early in the day. Normal volume on this is 450,000. Now as I understand it, if there is no buyer available to take a huge block like this, the pit boss' job is to stabilize the price and because of such, he can buy those and then distribute them later until they are gone so that the price wont go from say 50 to a penny and then back up. If this is correct, or at least close, One, how long does he have to get rid of those shares? And two, how can someone like me find out if they are redistributed yet?

PS - This one trades on the AMEX
