Like most people I get targeted for advising some one off a stock that eventually does well and on one that does poorly.

My usual rationale is not to play rumor stocks unless I have what I think is a basis for entry from a source I have faith in. The Yahoo Chat Boards are not such a source. McMillan was doubtful, if I recall, and I had no other source.

But I am always reluctant (unless I have a strong opinion) to get too negative about an issue that someone just invested money in.

So perhaps I should have been less reluctant and itemized concerns but then a miracle hits and the stock zips up.

I think the rumor stock play is a concept for people who wish to accept a lot of risk and Jim knew that going in.

I feel bad for him, but I did not sense he was blaming me for it.

Hey, I worry enough about putting Scoot in the poorhouse on an S&P contract. (If you're reading this, just remember Money Management Scott. Good Risk Management and you'll do fine).
