T, speaking of agriculture, that's been one of the hardest hit industries as agricultural exports have fallen sharply. I agree, BTW, with your observation about the contribution of information technology to the market's rise as public participation is at an all-time high, facilitated I think by the Internet, CNBC and all the day trading shops popping up in every major city (not to mention 401k plans). It is incredibly easy to get information about anything (as if I need to tell anyone on SI that). However, knowing what to make of that information is another thing entirely. Re cap gains taxes, the tax bill Slick Willy signed a day or two ago shortens the holding period for the 20% rate to 12 months from 18. I also understand that the change is retroactive to Jan 1. (consult your tax adviser) Bob
