Gunshots Fired at Capitol U.S. HEADLINES ABCNEWS.com W A S H I N G T O N - One or two people were apparently injured after gunshots were fired on Capitol Hill this afternoon. Few details were immediately available but a helicopter took off from a nearly lawn just after 4 p.m. EDT with at least one victim on board. There was an unconfirmed report that two Capitol Police officers were injured. There was also an unconfirmed report that there was a lone gunman who is now in custody. Some witnesses reported seeing at least one person park a car in a special reserved handicapped parking space outside the building, walk inside and fire five or six shots. There was no indication what the motive might be. The House was in session at the time. President Clinton was not in the area.
