Celeron Taking Market Share From P-II.

Good point. It has to hurt Intel's bottom line, but I think it is Intel's long term interest as it will slow if not stop AMD's market share growth.

AMD has to continue to take market share or they will never be anything more than marginally profitable.

re:Why do you so stuck with monikers? Who cares whom K6 is
competing against?

It's called market segmentation. You know, you create different brands and products for certain customer bases. This determines which product competes with which product. I clearly see 2 different segments occuring:

low-cost: Celeron I, II 266-333, < $1200
high-performance: PII 350, 400, 450, $1200-$2500

Unfortunately for K6, its competing in the low-cost group.
