T.G.W., Actually, what's really embarrassing is you took Robin's incorrect description of the US legislative process as being accurate. I may not be an expert in the area, but at least I am aware that the purpose of our federal bicameral is to serve as part of the system of checks and balances. One house of congress absolutely CANNOT unilaterally propose law, pass a bill, and submit same to the president for his signing.

A bill that has been agreed to in identical form by both bodies becomes the law of the land only after:

1.Presidential approval; or 2.failure by the President to return it with objections to the House in which it originated within 10 days while Congress is in session; or 3.the overriding of a presidential veto by a two-thirds vote in each House.

Senate bill #S.2260, Justice, Commerce, and State Department Appropriations bill was amended by SP3266 as proposed by Kyl, R-AZ, and co-sponsored by Bryan, Coats, Enzi, Bond, and McConnell, to "prohibit internet gambling". The amendment passed the senate on a 90-10 vote.

Since S.AMDT.3266 was only introduced on July 22nd, I sincerely doubt the House had an opportunity to agree to it in identical form. Sorry, TGW, but Robin gives our federal government just a little too much credit!!

Lemme see, now. That has to be about 35 untruths I've called you on so far, my good friend. I'm sorry to embarrass you (and Robin), however, I hate seeing untruths go unchecked!
