Re -- do you think that the deal with MOT will help AMD. AMD gave up its Flash memory technology to one of its biggest customers MOT in exchange for copper. Thus AMD's current "worth" has declined SIGNIFICANTLY, as no one would want to buy their flash memory as MOT can produce and sell the same product more cheaply. The copper technology is as yet unproven and MAY help AMD far into the future. Things are looking MORE and MORE bleak for AMD. Even under bankruptcy, they will wind up having nothing to reorganize under!! Stockman

AMD's gap with Intel in process technology has really been FET/device related which results in AMD having "slower" CPU's. I believe that Motorolo has gained significant knowledge in this area from their relationship with IBM. IBM has excellent process technology ... Remember, IBM is the one that taught Intel about CMP (Chemical Mechanical Polishing). I don't expect that AMD will be able to "deliver" this new FET technology for some time ... maybe in '00 with the K7. The "gap" might close, but Intel is always pushing hard on FET performance. This relationship between Motorolo and AMD might allow AMD to just stay even at best. Make It So, Yousef
