><>...His son goes abroad to college...><> How are you doing?....Hot Subjects list, eh! God is good there is no other.! There was a man whose only son went abroad to college. This son wrote and telephoned his father every chance he got. He told his father of a classmate who was taking an art class and asked him to be his subject for a full head and face portrait for one of his classes. He told his father that he agreed because no one else would and he kind of felt sorry for the guy. Sometime later the father got a phone call from the University he was informed that his son was killed in an automobile accident. The Father immediately packed and went to collect his son's body. A short time later the guy who painted the portrait of his son sent the portrait to his father along with a short note telling him that his son was the nicest guy he ever met, and was honored to have been his friend. He told of his son's eyes that reflected the love he had for people. The father treasured those words of truth and also was completely in awe over the uncanny and beautiful likeness of his son. He treasured this portrait. He went out and bought a most magnificent gold and wood frame and hung it over his mantle. Many yrs. later this self made billionaire father was preparing for his own death, he was ill and knew he would not live much longer. He had no fm. left, so he arranged with a close friend to auction off all of his estate. They wrote up the agreement and the deal was done. It came time for the auction and people from all over the world attended. Anybody who was somebody showed up. They knew that this man was quite a philanthropist, and worth billions. The auction began with the portrait of his son. It seemed no one was really interested in this simple portrait of someone they did not even know. There were many grunts and whines among the people, as they were anxious to bid on the real goods.! An ordinary woman of just average means told her friend there was something about that portrait that she was drawn to. She spoke of a special look of love which made his eyes come alive, she admitted even she couldn't explain it fully. Her friend advised against it telling her she had better save her money for the good stuff, and don't let her emotions get the best of her. Against her friends better judgment she bid on the portrait, and as it turned out she was the only one who did....so it was sold to the highest bidder...!!. As the woman went up front to receive her portrait, the auctioneer announced that the auction was now over. A roar and thunder arose from the crowd demanding to know what was going on. They came for an auction and nothing ha been auctioned. They cried foul, foul,. They knew the man to be a very wealthy man and also knew of his Charitable ways. They demanded to know why they were brought here to this sham. The auctioneer asked the woman who bid on the portrait to turn it around and open the document attached to it. She did. She was then asked to read it aloud, the document read This is my son whom I treasure, and you cared enough about him to want to take him into your home, you now own all that was mine and would have been his had he not died. Just Something to think about. Have a good weekend all of you Shalom...><> What a Saviour we have in Christ.
