Alaskaman,
Good advice, get involved if you want recognition. I am involved in my state and I donate a small amount to each Representative in my area when they are running for office. When I need assistance I get a personal return call. You can't sit on the sidelines and expect them to jump to your rescue when you need something. A friend of mine was a Senator and I asked him how he handled the calls.
1. Check to see if the caller is on your donor list.
2. If not, check the party (dem, gop)$$ list.
3. Check the list of supporters who work as volunteers when you run.
4. Check party affiliation and give them the name of the Senator in their party.
5. Check local involvement of the caller.
6. computer records make this search available in minutes.

7. If no matches are found, sent them a letter thanking them for their concern and tell them you will consider their opinion when or if the issue comes up for vote.
8. In other words, BUZZ OFF

Yeah, I know they represent all of us because thats what they are elected to do but they represent some of us more than others.

Donate money to your parties candidate if you want to be heard.
